Hong Kong Marrow Match Foundation

Every year, over 1,200 adults and children in Hong Kong are diagnosed with leukaemia and other serious blood diseases. For many of them, bone marrow transplantation may be the only hope for a cure.

As Founding Fundraising Chairperson, Professor Alice Chiu raised funds to establish the Hong Kong Marrow Match Foundation as the world’s first Chinese-based unrelated bone marrow donor registry in 1991.

With ongoing funding support from Sheen Hok, the Hong Kong Marrow Match Foundation has since provided over 580 bone marrow transplants to such patients.
